Meet the Team: Teresa
Teresa is GoCambio’s digital marketing executive, resident PR guru and social media nerd. When she’s not glued to her popular Twitter feed, Teresa’s busy attending gigs, running, watching sports and advocating for mental health.
What made you decide to work for GoCambio?
I decided to work for GoCambio as I loved their mission – that it was a company striving to bring people together, whether it’s people who want to travel or people who want to learn a new skill. The idea of working for such an innovative company working towards building an inclusive community was one I loved! The fact I was recently after completing my marketing degree meant the timing was perfect
What does cambioing mean to you?
Lots! To me it’s all about connecting people, about new friendships, removing barriers; whether that’s financial barriers of high tuition costs or something a little more intangible like a barrier to truly getting to know a culture, cambioing really solves a lot of different problems.
On a personal level, it means so much and is a huge part of my life. Knowing I’m part of this amazing company and helping to build the GoCambio community is something I’m grateful for everyday, I’m blessed to work with awesome people and I wake up every morning excited to go to work!
What’s the one skill you want to master before you die?
Very hard to choose, but I’d have to choose guitar, purely to increase my chances of appearing on stage with Noel Gallagher – maybe a bit ambitious, eh!
What’s the most incredible place you have visited on your travels and why?
Heidelberg in Germany. It’s a vibrant and picturesque city where I loved spending time . The fact that it’s the location of the memories that I treasure the most makes it my favourite place!
Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?
Still working in a job that I have a huge passion for and that I truly believe in, well travelled and being able to say that GoCambio is helping millions of people travel and up-skill. I also hope to be after achieving my long-term goal of being a mental health motivational speaker; I really want to help people by sharing my story and the knowledge I’ve learned along the way. Pat Divilly does this incredibly well, and he’s someone I hugely admire!
If you were left in charge of the GoCambio office for a day, what would you choose to do?
Easy! I would get everyone to spend the day on Twitter (sorry, Rosie!), make fun videos for social media and perhaps some GIFs. I’m a social media nerd and I’d spend all my time on social media if I could!
